Kelli Dixion
Regional Manager Tampa
I have always considered myself an animal lover, but did not understand the impact animals can have on us and the importance of what we can learn from them until later in life. Service animals bring peace and coping capabilities to their human friends. Family pets can teach children life lessons like accountability and the importance of sharing and kindness.
My first dog was there for me through some of the most traumatic experiences in my young adult life. She brought me joy when I could find none elsewhere. She reminded me that I wasn’t alone in the world, and provided love when I could not find any for myself. Our pets hold the capacity to love us more than they love themselves, and that’s more than I can say for most humans.
My recent move to Florida was accompanied by the addition of a new family member, Bear, also referred to as Mr. Bear Bear. He is my beach buddy, cuddle bug, breakfast companion, and my most extroverted friend. Bear, weighing in at 130 lbs. is considerably bigger than I am, making it impossible for us to go on a walk without raising a few questions from passersby. Thanks to Bear, I met all of my neighbors in a matter of weeks. Together we are a regular Mutt and Jeff.
My belief that our pets have more to offer us than we do to them shines through in how I care for my own animals as well as yours. Sharing Wendy’s passion for building respect and confidence within pets and their owners, I have joined The Life Of Riley team, as Regional Manager, Tampa.
